Gardisil / HPV Vaccine

VANCOUVER, Wash. — June 15, 2010 — This vaccine's goal is to prevent the HPV virus for patients age 12 to 26 years old. The vaccine is for females and has recently been approved for male patients too. It is a 3 shot series and we will bill insurance for these, but if not covered then it is the patient's responsibility. We are finding that more and more insurance companies are covering these if the patient has immunization benefits. The first shot is scheduled with your doctor usually at the time of a physical or well child exam, and then injection #2 is due 2 months later, and then injection #3 is due 4 months later after the second immunization so that the series is completed in 6 months.
