We are happy to help you if you need a referral for a specialist or other medical service. Just let your doctor know. He/she will send an electronic message to our referrals department, who will contact your insurance company to obtain authorization (if necessary.)
After we have that, we will recommend a specialist in your area and send the requested records to that office. Someone from our referrals department will call you with the specialist information along with any appointment date(s) and time(s.) If the specialist requires that you be the one to make the appointment, we’ll give you what you need to make your own arrangements.
** Our staff will make every effort to locate participating specialists on your insurance plan, but please double check the referral with your insurer. FWC is not responsible if you are referred to a non-preferred or out of network provider.
*** For the best outcome regarding your referral, you should review and verify your insurance plan benefits, coverage and limits prior to your specialist appointment.
**** Unless your situation is urgent, please allow 7-10 working days for our referrals department to process referrals. If you need it faster than that, let us know. Thank you!
